Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has advised star striker Alexander Isak to ignore transfer speculation and focus on the next game.
The Sweden international continued his fine form as he scored twice in Wednesday’s 3-0 Premier League win over Wolves to take his tally for the season to 15, behind เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง only Mohamed Salah (18) and Erling Haaland (16).
With his latest performance, Isak has now scored in eight consecutive league games, becoming only the third player to do so after Ruud van Nistelrooy (twice) and Jamie Vardy, fuelling speculation over a move to Old Trafford. However, Howe has advised the player to focus on the game at hand rather than worrying about the future at the moment.
Asked if Isak is the most sought-after striker in Europe, Howe said: “Everyone tells me he is. Everyone tells me he is! But I think he is enjoying his football.”
“We love having him here, we love working with him. All I want him to do is focus on the next game.”
Speaking shortly after the final whistle, Isak attributed Newcastle’s current form to their hard work in both in attack and defence.
‘I feel very good, obviously. My ambition is always to score, I think that’s the best way that I can help the team,’ he said.
‘But I think it’s a team performance and it’s not just what we do going forward.
