David Beckham, owner of Inter Miami, which lost 1-4 to Minnesota United, has expressed his displeasure over the social media activity of his rivals.

Saturday’s defeat was Inter Miami’s heaviest since eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi joined the club in July 2023.
Argentina captain Messi, 37, scored in the second half as Inter Miami suffered their fourth defeat in their last five games in all competitions.

They also included an image of the league table that showed Minnesota edged above Inter. Major League Soccer co-owner Beckham commented on the post, writing: “Show some respect. Show some grace in victory.”
Minnesota, managed by Welshman Eric Ramsey, then posted a banner from the game with the caption “History over propaganda. Culture over cash” highlighted with the words: “Propaganda and cash” in pink.
Former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy midfielder Beckham, 50, commented on the post, writing: “Respect trumps everything.”
Inter won last season’s Supporters’ Shield with the best regular season record but were defeated in the first round of the play-offs.
The club hired former Argentina and Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano in November but lost in the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup and currently sit fourth in MLS Eastern Conference.
Their squad includes former Barcelona stars Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
